About: Nataranjan Bohidar

Guest Editor

Nataranjan Bohidar has 40 years of teaching, training & transformational expertise. His interests are socio-cultural symbiogenesis & citizen positioning - both peculiar to his unique creativity. Having spent long years practicing the arcane art of media branding, his overarching ambition is to position India as a democracy within a continuum where cinema is a key substrate.

In a career spanning four decades, Nataranjan Bohidar has been intimately associated with cinema, theatre, teaching, brand building, mass communications, corporate visioning  and strategy.

He has held key integrated marketing and management positions with reputed companies like Nestle India and The Times of India Group (Bennett, Coleman & Company). In addition to being a theatre director and co-founder of theatre group Chorus, he has critically appraised live performances and books, writings, documentaries on World Cinema, Global Theatre & Indian Folk, Music particularly jazz, Dance classical modern fusion and Indo-English literature. His commentary and interpretations are imbued with the spirit of juxtapositioning William Shakespeare and Henrik Ibsen, not necessarily in that order, for their socio-cultural  influence in the colonial, post-colonial and neo-colonial world. Further to successfully implementing Theatre-in-Education and Newspaper-in-Education programs as non-formal education techniques within the formal set-up, he experiments from time to time with ‘Theatre in Management Education' for business studies, entrepreneurship regeneration and skills alignment.

He is the founder of several film societies for students and business executives such as Cinemac & Cine-Action having started young in the national cine-appreciation movement to create a discerning cine-audience as Vice President of Delhi University film society, Celluloid. He was at the same time President of "The Players", the Kirorimal College Dram-soc, which his senior of many years, the one and only AB, had failed to theatrically impress! Nataranjan has since picked, trained and is periodically in touch with select serious talent that today do Bollywood proud by rejigging the juggernaut to 'role' better. The pun, says Nataranjan, is intended!

Leveraging his wide & rich international experience is Nataranjan's current depth-involvement with Wealth Management - a multi-layered and profitable talent that has curiously gone missing in Indian cinema. In this he designates himself as Particle Accelerator, to appreciate  which term you must write to him:
