A Potpourri of Vestiges Feature
Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas recently completed 14 years of its release. Varun Dhawan, in a bid to promote his upcoming film Dishoom, teamed up with Madhuri Dixit on the sets of the dance reality show she is judging, So You Think You Can Dance, to do an impression of SRK's Devdas on Dubsmash. Madhuri took to Twitter to share the video:
On completion of #14YearsOfDevdas this is my first dubsmash for you. Thank you @Varun_dvn ❤️😊 pic.twitter.com/FJ8nXES4Oq— Madhuri Dixit-Nene (@MadhuriDixit) July 12, 2016
Shah Rukh Khan, who his know for his witty sarcasm, didn't seem too impressed with Dhawan's efforts.
Here is what Bhansali's Devdas had to say to his doe-eyed Chandramukhi:
Chandru this is DhawanDas not DevDas! 2nd he doesn’t drink, 2 health conscious. & wot happened to ur voice Chandru. https://t.co/FaK6DPB81I— Shah Rukh Khan (@iamsrk) July 12, 2016
The character of Devdas has been essayed by many great actors over the years, including the legendary Dilip Kumar, but it is SRK's portrayal that has become synonymous with it during the last decade or so. Although King Khan is quite fond of his Dilwale costar, he is certainly not going to let anyone steal his glory, especially at a time when he is finding it a wee bit tough to maintain his hold on his throne.
