Decked up in Navy uniform, the Khilari Kumar of our Bollywood industry is coming to save marriages this time. We have seen Akshay Kumar in all comedy and action films, besides giving patriotic feel to the audiences with films like ‘Baby’, ‘Holiday: A Soldier is Never Off Duty’ and ‘Airlift’.
The starcast of the film Rustom, Akshay Kumar, Ileana D'Cruz, Esha Gupta and producer Neeraj Pandey promoted their film in PVR Plaza, Delhi.
This time Akshay Kumar will be portraying a role of a Navy Officer. Based on the real life incidences and story of Naval Officer K.M. Nanavati and the murder of his wife’s lover, the film ‘Rustom’ will sketch the occurrences of his life, the marriage, extra-marital affair, murder, mystery, court case and media trial are all such matters that will be represented in the picture. When asked about the difficulty in portraying a Parsi character, he said: "It wasn't difficult for me to play a Parsi role. I have friends who are Parsis. So, I didn't have to go to any training sessions for the same".
Bollywood seems to be showering all its love on Rustom after Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Sonam Kapoor, Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh and Sidharth Malhotra posted the videos on the social networking sites supporting and requesting their fans to watch the movie on 12thAugust.
Talking about the similar subjects of the film he is opting for, onscreen Rustom said "There are many subjects and stories that people aren't aware of. Films provide a platform for the people to know such hidden truths and stories. It is not that I opt for the same subject films, I have done Rustom, then there was Singh is Bliing which were complete different genre".
The music of the film has already impressed the audiences. Where on one hand Atif Aslam has breathed life into the song ‘Tere Sang Yaara’, the duo Arijit Singh and Palak Muchal charming voice has created a different persona in the song ‘Dekha Hazaro Dafaa’.
