A Potpourri of Vestiges Feature
August promises to be an exciting month for Netflix subscribers as the streaming giant has an amazing lineup in place. For the benefit of our readers, we have compiled a list of best new offerings for the coming month.
10. Mr. Sunshine
Every week two new episodes of South Korean television series Mr. Sunshine will be released on Netflix. The series is set in Hanseong (now Seoul) in early 1900s and focuses on activists fighting for Korea's independence.
9. Like Father
Starring Kristen Bell, Kelsey Grammer, and Seth Rogen, the American comedy film, Like Father, written and directed by Lauren Miller Rogen will start streaming on Netflix from 3rd August, 2018.
8. Melle
The Malayalam romantic film, Melle, written and directed by Binu P. Ulahannan will start streaming on Netflix from 1st August, 2018.
7. Jason Bourne
The fifth installment of the Bourne film series and a direct sequel to The Bourne Ultimatum, Jason Bourne, starring Matt Damon and Alicia Vikander in the pivotal roles, starts streaming on Netflix starting 17th August, 2018.
6. Zion
Zion is riveting portrait of a young wrestler, Zion Clark, who was born without legs and grew up in foster care. The documentary starts streaming on 10th August, 2018.
5. Bhavesh Joshi
Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, Bhavesh Joshi is the story of a group of youngsters who decide to take up vigilantism as the last resort to fight corruption. The film starts streaming on 16th August, 2018.
4. Beyond the Clouds
Starring Ishaan Khatter and Malavika Mohanan, Beyond the Clouds, is the first Indian film direcred by the legenday Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi. The film starts streaming on Netflix from 10th August, 2018.
3. Brij Mohan Amar Rahe
The latest Indian original film from Netflix, Brij Mohan Amar Rahe, produced by Yoodlee Films, will be available on Netflix from 3rd August, 2018. The film is a crime comedy about a man who gets wrongly framed for a murder.
2. Tikli and Laxmi Bomb
Tikli and Laxmi Bomb, winner of awards such as the Best Film Award for Gender Equality at the UK Asian Film Festival and Best Film Award at the 2018 Berlin Independent Film Festival, is set to stream on Netflix from August 1, 2018. Directed by Aditya Kriplani, the film follows the lives of two prostitutes, Laxmi and Putul, living in Mumbai and offers a riveting treatise on the lives of sex workers and it does so without ever trying to judge them.
1. Ghoul
After Sacred Games, Netflix collaborates with Phantom Films for its first Indian original horror series Ghoul with Radhika Apte and Manav Kaul. The series will be launched on August 24, 2018. All three episodes will be available at the same time on Netflix across 190 countries, including India.
