A Potpourri of Vestiges Feature
The
world’s largest travelling film festival Jagran now commences its expedition
with great zeal this time. The 9th edition of the Festival will
make its jaunt throughout the country delivering us with some world class
imperial cinematography.
Having been scheduled to commence
the Mumbai Chapter on September 27th 2018, the festival attracts film entries
from numerous aspiring filmmakers across various genres. This year the Festival
has viable divisions with cash rewards for Indian Feature Films, Foreign
Feature Films and Short films. The entries can be proposed through the
Festival’s official site www.jff.co.in and the
registration platform Filmfreeway. The entries shut by 15th August 2018. All
films in contest sections would be previewed by pre selection Panels comprising
of film makers and critics.
The
festival began from New Delhi in July this year and ventured off to other cities
before closing in Mumbai in September 2018.
The Cash awards
at the 9th edition of the festival are Best Foreign Film: $2000*, Best Short
Film: $1000*, Best Film: Rs. 2,00,000//=*, Best Director: Rs. 1,50,000/=* and
Best Debut Director: Rs. 1,00,000/=*
The
Festival further bestows awards in diverse categories for Indian Feature films elected
in the Indian Showcase segment. The categories are : The Icon of Indian
Cinema, Special Contribution to Cinematic Art, Rajnigandha Achievers Award,
Best Foreign Feature Film, Best Feature Film, Best Director Winner, Best Debut
Director Winner, Best Actor – Male, Best Actor – Female, Best Short Film, Best
Music Director, Best Screenplay, Best Background
Score, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Documentary and Best Student
Film. The Festival also grants awards to the Advertising & Public Service
Ad films in the following grouping: Cinema of the Seller – Gold, Cinema of the
Seller – Silver and Cinema of the Seller – Bronze. Films made 2nd June
2017 and 31st August 2018 will be entitled for an entry submission
in the Mumbai chapter of the 9th Jagran Film Festival.
The
submission deadline for Mumbai chapter is 15th August, 2018. More information
